Despite my college education, I don’t think I could count the number of bands Jack White has been a part of over his career, but I do know that he has never put out a solo record…until April 24th that is.

On that day, Blunderbuss will hit stores and we will once again be graced with Jack White’s quirky musical taste.

And just so you know, I’m not saying quirky is bad, just different. If it’s quirky, it doesn’t sound like anything else, and the record’s first single (“Love Interruption”) definitely doesn’t sound like anything else…

Just because we don’t play a band much anymore, doesn’t mean their music isn’t worth listening too. Take Halestorm for example.

Their single “I Get Off” was pretty popular and they even did a few shows for us, but nothing else really happened with their record so nothing else really made the radio.

Fast forward to the present. They are slated to open for Godsmack and Staind on their Spring tour and they have a new record (The Strange Case Of…) coming out in April.

They even made some of their new music available on YouTube…

While “Love Bites” has the same feel as “I Get Off”, the other songs are a little different from the stuff I remember from their first record (Halestorm). Not that the new stuff is bad, I actually like it. I’m just saying it is different from what I remember of their other record. Who knows, maybe this stuff will work and they will get more stuff on the radio.

In fact, I hope they do. I would love to see them again and maybe have another Family Guy conversation (Lzzy and her brother really like Family Guy).

Kanye West may be all smiles (you see, he is smiling in the picture), but his act now has others reacting in the opposite fashion.

A few years ago, the guys in Pearl Jam didn’t say anything when Mr. West blamed them for his less-than-spectacular set at Bonnaroo (a set that started almost two hours late due to his desire to be the only act playing at the time), but this Seattle rocker wasn’t willing to keep his mouth shut...



It seems Kanye was a little late (imagine that) for his soundcheck at Saturday’s Big Day Out Festival in Australia. When he finally got around to it, the soundcheck interrupted Soundgarden’s set on a nearby stage.

Chris Cornell had this to say about the interruption…

“Sounds like there’s children playing music there, retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it.”

While that may have been a little harsh (using retarded was a bit much, but he did use it correctly), I think a lot of people will agree with Cornell.

Unfortunately, if history teaches us anything, Cornell’s comments will do nothing to change West’s behavior. Only loss of celebrity will do that, and the guys just puts out hits. Damn success and how it goes to some people’s heads.
